Programs/Events

United Way of Laurens County provides the below programs/services annually, thanks to grants and sponsorships. We would love for you to be a part of any of them!

Bags of Love

Bags of Love is a neighborhood-focused event to let our elderly and shut-ins know that we, as a community, are thinking of them!  United Way and Senior Options collect small gift bags filled with candy, books, pens, lotions, etc. that are handed out during the week of Valentine’s Day to our Meals On Wheels recipients.  This event is an inexpensive way to tell others you care!  Get your family and/or your workplace involved by asking others to collect goodie bags for this event! Day of Caring

This is an annual event where over 100 volunteers are deployed to local agencies funded by United Way of Laurens County for a one-day beautification event. The date of our Day of Caring is still TBD and will benefit several of United Way's partner agencies.

Golf Tournament

United Way of Laurens County hosts an annual Golf Tournament to benefit our programs. This year, our tournament date is still TBD and will be at a new golf course location. Stay tuned to find out more.

Bookbag Giveaway

As of 2020, during Covid19, United Way of Laurens County implemented a Bookbag Giveaway. Any child that is old enough to attend school is eligible to receive a bookbag full of items such as pencils, markers, paper, binders, notebooks, scissors, glue, etc. Parents/Guardians are able to drive up and receive one bag per child. As of this year we have been able to provide over 2,500 bookbags full of items to Laurens County children.

School Supplies Drive

Each year, United Way enlists the help of volunteers, students, and teachers to collect school supplies for underprivileged children in our community.  Click here to see how this past year's event went...

VITA

Sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), VITA provides free income tax preparation assistance to individuals and families with a household income of less than $60,000 a year. Click here for more details on how you can be involved.

Clay Shoot

United Way of Laurens County holds an annual Clay Shoot. The funds raised from this event go right back into the county and all the programs we provide. During this event we also have a FREE bourbon tasting that comes with a team of 4 and a team sponsorship. Stay tuned for a date and location for 2024.

Spring Fling

In 2023, United Way of Laurens County received a grant from Ten at the Top & Hughes Investments to host an annual event to bring the community together. We now will host an annual Spring Fling. At this event, there will be FREE food, snacks, drinks, games, inflatables, and prizes. This is our chance to give back to our kids and our community. Stay tuned to find out when our next one will be hosted.
