We held our 25th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, May 5th at Lakeside Country Club. With Cinco de Mayo as a theme, it was a true fiesta out on the green! Nineteen teams entered the captain’s choice tournament, held at Lakeside Country Club. Presenting Sponsors for the tournament were GHS/Laurens County Memorial Hospital, Laurens County Water and Sewer Commission, Laurens Electric Cooperative, and PRTC.
“We are so appreciative of all sponsors, players, and volunteers who came out to support this event,” said Whitney Robertson, Manager of Campaign & Events. “Incorporating Cinco de Mayo food and festivities was a fun way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our tournament this year. A great time was had by everyone.”
In the Captain’s Choice tournament, Team Consolidated Pipe came in first place. Players included Tommy Marchman, Barry Ward, Greg Moore, and Derrick Oyervides. The Lakesiders came in 2nd with a team consisting of Marion Robinson, Hugh Stone, Everett Robbins, and Frank Richey. The 3rd place team was City of Laurens, whose team was made up of Clay Rykard, Heath Copeland, Jason Pridgen, and Ryan Bolding.
Along with four Presenting sponsors, the City of Clinton, Cooper Motors, and ISO Flex Packaging served as Corporate sponsors for the event. More than 25 other Laurens County businesses and organizations also participated as hole, food, beverage, or prize sponsors for the event.
