Imagination Library

Funded by United Way of Laurens County and Laurens County School Districts 55 & 56, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program began in Laurens County in 2002 and currently has over 1,500 children enrolled. 

Each year, Imagination Library distributes over 12,000 brand-new, age appropriate books free-of-charge to any child in Laurens County ages birth to 5 years.  Since the program's inception in Laurens County, Imagination Library has distributed over 115,000 books.  Books are mailed directly to the homes of children in Laurens County.  Our goal is to instill a love of reading in children so that they will be more ready for school and grow up to be literate adults.
