Have you ever wondered what actually happens with your donation?  We plan to keep you updated with statistics to show you exactly how your United Way gift is making a difference for our neighbors here in Laurens County.

In 2009 alone:

• 51 children have been counseled and treated free of charge after encountering sexual abuse
• 80 people received free housing assistance after losing their home to a fire
• 2,406 nights of free shelter have been provided to mothers and dependent children after fleeing from an abusive situation
• 500,000 miles of transportation has been provided at no charge to senior adults for imperative doctor appointments
• 3,200 medical exams have been provided for free to those without medical insurance
• 81 men have had the opportunity for shelter, food, and mentoring to get their lives back on track

These are only a few of the statistics that show the needs here in Laurens County.  Our agencies cannot provide these (and other) programs to those in need without your support!
