2012-2013 Community Investment Process
United Way of Laurens County invests donor dollars into our local community with the goal of making positive impacts in the areas of education, income, and health. The invesment process is in place to provide funding for specific programs delivered by non-profit organizations that can demonstrate measurable results and impact on specific community issues.
Funds provided through the investment process are intended to support the direct costs associated with the delivery of a specific program within an organization. Impact dollars are not intended for capital expenses or an organization’s general operating expenses.
Investment panels have been established to oversee this community investment process. These investment teams are comprised of donors and community volunteers representing a variety of expertise and backgrounds. Programs submitted by local agencies are evaluated annually by the appropriate team who in turn provides the United Way’s Board of Directors with recommended levels of investment.
Organization’s interested in receiving United Way funds must submit a detailed program application built around the education, income, and health initiatives.
